General Description

With 10 double bedrooms and more than 10 bathrooms to accommodate up to 20 guests in luxurious comfort, the Chateau even has separate staff quarters. The property is available year round and the location offers an unrivalled range of activities during all the seasons. One of Europe's oldest renovated chateaux is available for your family holiday or reunion! The Chateau is located in the Savoie region of France at the base of the French Alps. Originally built by French monks as a priory in 1032-1033, the property was transformed into a chateau by Barron Charles-Albert Favier du Noyer in 1828. The Chateau changed hands three times before being bought and completely restored by the current owners, who have brought modern charm to the chateau while maintaining historical and architectural integrity. Cooking classes and wine tasting are available within the chateau. Please contact us for details. This is a suitable wedding location.

Accommodation Facilities

Bedrooms: The 10 double bedrooms all have en-suite bathrooms and are truly unique.
For maximum privacy there is also a separate staff apartment.
Kitchen: A large, fully equipped kitchen for relaxed meals.
Living Rooms: A more formal dining room. Two outdoor terraces can be used for dining and relaxing. There is also a main reception room for socializing.
The salon is a great place for listening to music or enjoying a glass of wine and unwinding.
Other Rooms: The library is the ideal place to relax and escape with a good book.
There is a pool table, a bar and a stereo in a games room.
The home theatre comes with over 550 films to watch and satellite television.
There is also a fully equipped office with PC for internet access, phone and fax.
Linen/Cleaning/Towels etc: All linen and bath towels are included in the rental price.
Outside: The views of the Alps and Mt. Blanc are breathtaking and host a range of activities.
17 acres of private grounds to explore with 2 dining terraces and views of the Alps & Mont-Blanc.
In addition there is plenty of parking.
Additional notes (if any): If there is anything you would like to arrange for your stay, please contact us will be happy to help. We can help you arrange any of the following at extra cost:

- Breakfast can be requested in advance
- Laundry upon request and will be charged by item.
- Concierge services (booking with local vendors, suppliers, tour companies etc.) will be charged by the hour.
- Grocery Stocking upon request, grocery bill and hours spent shopping will be billed and must be paid at end of stay.
- Daily cleaning upon request.
- Catering, any meal preparation, and hiring of staff/chef will be from the local area their fees will be subject to a service/usage fee.
- Onsite caretakers David and Judy Stevens available for assistance at an additional hourly rate, Please email the owner with any request before your arrival.


Indoor reception capacity: 100
Outdoor reception capacity: depending on which part of the grounds. There is an area for at least 250. Hire costs depend on the number of guests. The caves can be hired for a fee and the outside area is included.

Terms & Conditions

Security deposit €3000. This is required to be be paid by bank transfer 3 months prior to arrival and will be refunded in full after departure subject to damage inspection
Energy costs included in the rental price. There is a 500€ per day heating fee in winter months.
No pets allowed.
End of stay cleaning included. Please leave the property in the state that you found it. No smoking in the property.
Insurance -It is recommended that all guests take out insurance to cover against potential cancellation and any accidental damage caused during your stay at the property.

We appreciate you sharing your magnificent French Chateau home with our clan. It means so much to us to spend this time together-two generations all under one roof. The grand rooms, gorgeous French kitchen, game room, and movie theater all have left a memory of 7 great nights together-sure to be the topic of conversation of our family for years to come! Unbelievable sunrises and sunsets enjoyed on your terraces-thank you for sharing these remarkable sights with us! We enjoyed Bernard with our wine tour of the unique Savoie region, our unbelievable Mont Blanc journey and every village tour we could find. The best of all, we would return each day and have the property manager who provided and guided all our dining experiences. memories made here are once in a lifetime-we wish our best to you and thank you.

We cannot thank you enough for opening your home/chateau to our family. this week was the most memorable our family has ever experienced. This is a magical valley with so many secrets and we are blessed to have discovered them. Thank you again for your hospitality.

Local Area / Activities

Both Geneva & Lyon international airports are 130km away. The nearest village is the quaint St. Jean de la Porte 2km away, which is about a 15 minute stroll. The chateau is the ideal place to enjoy the typical French lifestyle and escape a hectic city life. With 3 local bakeries, a cheese shop and open-air markets, you won’t go hungry! The nearby villages and towns have excellent shopping and dining opportunities. Children can entertain themselves in the huge private grounds. Albertville hosted the 1992 winter Olympics and is less than 17 miles away. Chambéry, the former capital of the independent state of Savoie, is 14 miles away. Water activities and sightseeing are available at Lakes Bourget and Annecy and are less than 28 miles from the chateau. The Savoie and Haute-Savoie are perfect for walks in the forest or lazing in the sun. There is something here for all tastes and ages. There is an incredible range of activities on offer in the area, which is why many families enjoy their stay here. Where else could you go for a bike ride in the warm summer sun, trek glaciers, paraglide and taste local wines all in one day? Imagine the possibilities in a week or a month!
