The 'pavillon' is the summer residence of the grand château which, has been exquisitely styled with contemporary features and contrasting classic furnishings, all of the highest standard. One of the best features of the house has to be the light and airy living space with wide open doors opening out to the south-facing pool terrace with amazing views. The owners also take care to maintain their eco-friendly credentials, ensuring no chemicals are used and being aware of the environmental impact of their vineyard and home.

The vast grounds include the remarkable château, dating back to 1783. It's the perfect place to take a stroll, ride a bike or find a shady tree to read a book under. That said, it will be hard to tear yourself away from the 25 metre long swimming pool, perfect for keen swimmers. All of this whilst overlooking vineyards and valleys, it is such a magical location.

Keen chefs will love the wood-burning barbecue, ideal for cooking delicious local produce from nearby markets but should you prefer not to cook there are some amazing restaurants in the immediate area, including four with Michelin stars. The nearest village, Castillon-la-Bataille, is on the Dordogne River where you can hire canoes or soak up the historic atmosphere whilst the world famous wine town of Saint-Émilion is just ten minutes by car. This is an area rich in picturesque villages, châteaux and vineyards with prestigious golf courses, tennis and plenty of water and land-based activities nearby.

Buzzing Bordeaux and the enchanting city of Bergerac are both within an hour's drive whilst those yearning for the sea can head to the sweeping beaches of Arcachon for a day on the Atlantic coast.
