A beautiful Charentaise house which has been professionally restored by French craftsmen. In a tiny hamlet, near the Gironde Estuary with its fantastic array of flora and fauna, The delightful property is situated in a protected nature area and has glorious views towards the Gironde, with its own wooded land and huge barn detached from the house. The area is rich in wildlife and perfect for cycling and walking. Le Petit Manoir is close to 3 delightful small ports with a range of restaurants and bars and is only 20 minutes from award winning sandy beaches. The high standard renovation has retained original features such as wooden floors and exposed beams. Le Petit Manoir du Tartre is furnished with both comfort and elegance in mind, a mixture of local antique and modern furniture, making it a stylish and supremely comfortable home in which to unwind. This fantastic holiday home offers you three bedrooms, three W.C.s and two beautifully tiled shower rooms. The secluded pool is 10.5 metres x 5 metres and has a depth of 1 to 2.1 metres complete with a safety ledge. There is a solar shower and ample pool furniture for a wonderful relaxing holiday.

Kitchen: The well equipped kitchen has a dishwasher, microwave, electric oven, gas hob and extractor, fridge/freezer, kettle, cafetiere, toaster etc. There is a farmhouse table and dining chairs plus ample good quality, matching crockery, cutlery and glasses. Original Charentaise stone fireplace housing a wood burning stove.
Living Rooms: The beautifully proportioned lounge has three large windows, comfortable sofas and chairs with side tables. A Louis Philippe walnut armoire houses the TV with satellite, DVD, Video, CD player plus a selection of videos, board games etc.There is also a rather nice art deco writing desk.
Other Rooms: There is a separate breakfast room with dining table (perfect for jigsaw puzzles!), sideboard and chairs.

The laundry area is separate from the kitchen and contains a washing machine (tumble drier out of season), china sink, pegs, iron, ironing board etc.
Linen/Cleaning/Towels etc: All bed linen, duvets, pillows and towels are provided, including kitchen towels and tea towels, but please bring your own beach/pool towels.

Outside: The fabulous swimming pool (10.5 x 5m) has Roman steps making it easy for children and older visitors to enjoy swimming. There is non slip paving all around the pool, with ample pool furniture and a solar shower. Table tennis table, barbeque and garden furniture. There are various outbuildings and private parking. Four bicycles are available for your enjoyment.
Additional notes (if any): Lovely house in a protecetd wildlife area , calm, peaceful situation yet not far from wonderful beaches.

The house is oil fired centrally heated throughout, with the additional log burning stoves making it wonderfully cosy for winter holidays.

Local Area / Activities

Located near the pretty fishing villages of Port Maubert and Vitrezay, on the longest, widest estuary in Europe, the majestic Gironde. The local village of St Thomas de Conac is 3 kilometres away, where can be found a wonderful bakery, general store, bar/ restaurant etc. The nearest large supermarket is in Mirambeau, about 6 kilometres away. The award winning beautiful sandy beaches and coves of Meschers, Saint Georges de Didonne and Royan are not far away. A short drive will take you to the wonderfully interesting towns of Cognac, Saintes and Pons. Within an hour you can be in the ancient port of La Rochelle. Beautiful Bordeaux is only 45 minutes away. There is so much more to do and see in this area than being on the beach all day, from Cognac, Pineau des Charentes or Medoc tastings, visits to the Roman amphitheatre or troglodyte caves, or a visit to the new Dinosaur Park. The area is teeming with wild life and there are a number of nature reserves, with a new one close by at Vitrezay of over 175 acres. Within a 15 minute drive there is a huge variety of restaurants. Golf, tennis, horseriding, cycling, sailing, fishing nearby.
