Local Area / Activities

This property is at the heart of the 'Golden Triangle' of the Luberon National Park, close to the most beautiful villages of Ménerbes and Lacoste and its ramparts, just 4 kilometres, officially recognised as one of 'The Most Beautiful Villages in France'. Not to far way is Gordes, only a 8 kilometres from the Mas. Its century old cobbled streets, tall stone houses built against the rock and the imposing castle are the unique setting for many art exhibitions and musical festivals taking place during the summer season. Other stunning villages such are Bonnieux, Goult and Cabrières d'Avignon, a pretty Provencal village with an excellent restaurant with an enclosed garden to eat al fresco called 'Le Vieux Bistrot' which was famously mentioned by the author Peter Mayle. There are many restaurants in the area including weekly markets in most villages, such the excellent farmers' market selling fruit, vegetables, flowers and wine in Coustellet on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings.

A little further but within easy reach villages such as, Fontaines de Vaucluse are an absolute must to visit as well if you are seeking to experience the essence of Provence. And don't miss the pretty village of L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, with its canals, narrow streets and antiques market and of course St Remy de Provence. For a change of pace, the wonderfully vibrant and historic town of Avignon, with its magnificent Palais du Papes, is one of the architectural wonders of France, is just 35 kilometres away and would make an ideal day trip.
