Local Area / Activities

Lussan is a 5 minutes walk away and is an historic medieval village - recognised as one of the Plus Beaux Villages de France. Two good restaurants in the village and local gas station cafe/bar serves lunch. 40 minutes walk over the hill is a fine restaurant - make it a stop on a circular walk. Easter to September local farm shop 10 minutes walk, a fine 'epicerie' 4km. Large supermarket 15 minutes drive.

River swimming nearby, plenty of hiking and biking on quiet lanes and signposted tracks.

Uzes and its famous market is just 15 minutes away but there are many gorgeous, unspoilt villages in the area all with weekly markets and night markets in summer. Avignon and Nimes in under an hour, the Pont du Gard (swim, kayak, picnic and simply wonder at this Roman aqueduct) 25 minutes.

The rugged Cevennes and Ardeche are west and north of us - great for hiking and kayaking.

For foodies wine of course everywhere - we are 10 minutes from the Cote du Rhone region, and goats cheese, truffles and olives are evreywhere! Great local markets and cookery schools for the very keen.
