General Description

The holiday cottage is on the edge of the quaint village of Aunac, which is 5Km from the N10 dual carriageway. The village is well equipped with services which are all within walking distance of the property. It has an Epicerie, Boulangerie/patisserie, pharmacy, GP, Post office, Hairdressers, Bar, and restaurant. There are also visiting providers of Boucherie/Charcuterie, pizza, and seafood.

There are a number of activities available close by, horseriding, canoeing a short distance away. Table tennis, rambling and great cycling are available on the doorstep.

The accommodation itself is a few steps up to the first floor. It sleeps four in two bedrooms. The main bedroom has a comfy double bed and the second bedroom has twin beds. There is a large bright living/dining room with log burner and a separate well-equipped kitchen/ diner with oven, ceramic hob and microwave. There is internet access and free view TV. There are lovely views from the kitchen windows and the patio which is equipped with a BBQ and table and chairs. The patio overlooks the swimming pool which is 10 m x 5 m. It is not heated as it is so warm in summer. There is an assortment of board games to keep you amused as well as table tennis.

The Village is a short drive to the towns of Ruffec(North) and Mansle(South) with their weekly markets and large supermarkets/banks. There are numerous bars and restaurants in the area, Verteuil has a chateau and 3 fabulous bars and 1 restaurant that we can recommend.

The city of Angouleme is 25 minutes drive away, Limoges airport, 75 mins and Poitiers an hour. La Rochelle 2 hours. Driving from Caen or St Malo takes less than five hours.

An evening meal can be provided, if requested in advance, for a small charge. Bed linen is provided and bath towels. There will be a few stock food items in the cottage on arrival and more can be provided if needed, eg fresh milk/bread.

Bedrooms: 2 bedrooms. Master with double bed and dressing table the other with 2 single beds.
Bathrooms: fully tiled bathroom with shower and close fitting WC
Kitchen: Built in kitchen units. Electric cooker, hob and microwave. Washing machine. Fridge freezer. Breakfast table and chairs.
Living Rooms: Large bright living room with log burner in stone surround. Leather sofa and chairs. Dining table and welsh dresser.
Other Rooms: N/A
Linen/Cleaning/Towels etc: Bedlinen and towels provided.
Outside: Tiled patio. Small garden and parking area alongside the property. The pool which is shared with the owners, is 10 x 5 metres with electric retractable cover. Surround is fenced with locked gate. The pool is not heated but this is not needed during the hot summer months.

Local Area / Activities

Mansle is nearest town, 15 mins drive. Has banks and supermarkets, bars and restaurants and weekly market.
Angouleme is the closest city, 25 mins drive with many shops restaurants and bars. Very pretty hilltop city.
Cycling, fishing, horseriding and canoeing all available locally.
Picturesque villages with bars, giftshops and restaurants a short drive.
