General Description

This impressive 18th Century Chateau is situated in the quaint medieval village of Siorac-en-Perigord, on the banks of the River Dordogne in South West France, close to the many attractions of this beautiful area of France. The famous medieval market town of Sarlat is just 25 mins away and Bergerac airport is 45 mins by car.  This exquisite 18th Century chateau features 5 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms and sleeps 10 people. 

The private swimming pool, measuring 11m x 5m, has an alarm for safety and the private walled gardens offer tranquil surroundings for you to relax in. Furthermore, the views from the garden are impressive. 

While renovated, the property retains many of its originally features, including its size. Four floors boast tastefully styled bedrooms filled with antique furniture. They are light, spacious rooms containing high ceilings, large windows and stone floors. 

The three bedrooms on the second floor are complete with en-suite bathroom facilities, while the twin and triple bedded rooms on the third floor share a bathroom. There is also a further bathroom situated close to the main lounge on the first floor. A striking wooden staircase leads from the entrance to the first floor living area. Here, you will also find the main kitchen dining area and fireplace. 

You can also unwind in the summer lounge on the ground floor, which is equipped with satellite TV and Internet.

If you are planning a holiday with a large group an additional three guests can reside in the separate summer cottage, which is situated in the grounds. This cottage features two bedrooms, a shared bathroom, a combined lounge and dining area and a small galley kitchen. Please refer to separate advert CHA2645 or contact us for details. 

Rich in history, the chateau was once a centre for the resistance movement, harbouring a number of British soldiers during the 2nd world war. You’ll find a plaque by the front door of the property to commemorate its importance. 

The delightful one acre garden has many shaded areas suitable for al fresco dining. Why not spend an evening unwinding with a glass of the finest French wine while enjoying a delicious meal cooked on the barbecue!

3 large and spacious double bedrooms, all with en suite facilities, wardrobe space, bedside tables and lamps.

Third Floor:
One twin and one triple bedded room with separate shared bathroom with toilet, wash basin and bath with hand held shower.
Bathrooms: First Floor:
Separate bathroom with toilet, wash basin and bath with hand held shower.

Second Floor:
3 en suite bathrooms all with either bath or shower, wash basin and toilet.
Separate toilet in hallway.

Third Floor:
Separate shared bathroom with toilet, wash basin and bath with hand held shower.
Kitchen: Wooden staircase in entrance hall leads to first floor large kitchen dining room, with dining table, chairs and fireplace.
The kitchen is well equipped with an American style fridge freezer, dishwasher, electric oven, gas hob, microwave and sink. Plenty of cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery and glasses.

Living Rooms: Ground Floor:
Summer lounge area with satellite TV, dvd player, comfortable sofas and armchairs.
Internet available.

First Floor:
Spacious main lounge area with fireplace, beamed ceiling, paintings, lamps, large windows, comfortable sofas and armchairs.
Other Rooms: In the grounds there is a 2 bedroom summer cottage available to rent with the Chateau, as additional accommodation (sleeps 2-3). It is also available to rent separately outside the peak summer weeks. Please refer to separate advert CHA2645 or enquire for details.
Linen/Cleaning/Towels etc: Bed linen, personal and pool towels are included in the rental price.

Depending on the length of stay, bed linen and towels will be changed weekly (included).

The end cleaning charge is included in the rental however we request that the chateau is left as clean as you found it on arrival.
Outside: One acre of garden with many shaded areas for outside dining.

Located close to a range of amenities, shops and restaurants, the famous medieval village of Sarlat is only 25 minutes away and Bergerac airport is 45 minutes away by car. Nearby the chateau, you’ll find horse riding, golf, canoeing, museums, historical sights, nature delights and an unspoiled countryside filled with an abundance of wild flowers and rare orchids. 

Should you choose to explore the region of Bergerac, you’ll discover a wealth of vineyards, as well as sporting and leisure facilities. For those with children, an animal farm, go-karting and water park offer fun for all the family. For adults, there are many hiking trails and wine tasting events to visit.
