General Description

This exquisite 17th century family chateau boasts six bedrooms, four bathrooms and sleeps 12. Located close to Brinon-sur-Sauldre, France, the elegant property was renovated in 1997 to blend contemporary and antique features. The heated private pool (measuring 15m x 5m) is surrounded by 1 acre of private garden. 

Tranquil, lush greenery is just one key feature of this delightful property. An original kitchen is complemented by a fireplace and vintage furnishings while the spacious living room offers modern comforts as well as exquisite views of the impressive park.

Guests are free to explore the extensive park 45 acre Castle Park which showcases stunning centennial trees, magnificent wildlife and a 2.5 acre pond. A realm for fishermen, the 1km of river is perfect for taking a long stroll along while observing the delightful fauna.

The walled garden of the chateau allows for secluded leisure time. When the weather permits, you can enjoy dining outside with a garden barbecue and equipment for up to 14 people to be seated.  If you want to enjoy your leisure time discovering local amenities then there are several pursuits to consider. 

Situated between Chambord and Sancerre, the chateau has an ideal location to go sightseeing. Encounter royal castles, five golf courses (located less than one hours drive away) or view the vineyards in Loire Valley.

Master bedroom 1, 45 sq meters, with views over the grounds double bed and en-suite bathroom with sink, bath tub and toilet, view over the grounds.

Third bedroom with two single beds, shared bathroom with the second bedroom, the bathroom has a shower, sink and toilet.
Fourth bedroom with a double four-poster bed and en-suite bathroom with sink, bath tub and toilet, view over the swimming pool and surrounding garden.
Fifth bedroom with two single beds shared bathroom with the second and third bedrooms.
The bathroom has a shower, sink and toilet.

Second Floor

Master bedroom 2, 55 sq meters, has a lovely views over the grounds, double four-poster bed and a sitting area, shared bathroom with the sixth bedroom with sink, bath tub and toilet.
Sixth bedroom, double bed, view over the swimming pool.
Bathrooms: 4, some en-suite.
Kitchen: The original huge castle kitchen (55sq meters) is decorated with antique furniture and a fireplace.
The area is furnished by Bulthaup and includes an oven, dishwasher, refrigerator and freezer. The microwave oven and an extra refrigerator are located in the utility room in front of the kitchen.
Living Rooms: The 60sq meters sitting room has a four seats sofa, a two seater sofa and two armchairs. There is a desk area with access to internet and 110 cm TV with access to TNT. It is the ideal spot to unwind and enjoy the beautiful park view through the large windows.

Other Rooms: A utility room in front of the kitchen has the laundry equipment including washing machine/ tumble dryer/drying machine, ironing material and additional equipment for the kitchen: extra refrigerator/freezer/microwave oven.
This room is also the technical room that includes the central heating system and electricity panels.

Outside: Grounds

Discover the 2.5 acres of private garden, originally the castle's vegetable garden. It includes a 15 X 5 m heated swimming pool and two X1X century greenhouses. Enjoy the privacy and seclusion of the walled garden. There is an automatic water treatment system that keeps the water always perfectly balanced. There are two table allowing 14 people to have their meal outside prepared on the garden barbecue.


Guest are free to roam around the 45 acre park with centenial trees that is shared with the owners brother and sisters. The glorious park is ideal for children to play in, with lovely walks for adults and an exciting playground for the fishermen! It includes a 2.5 acre pond and 1 km of second cathegory river.
Additional notes (if any): The renting prices include a cleaning lady two hours every day except Sundays and national holidays.
You can order pre prepared meals that are delivered to the house from the butcher shop.

Local Area / Activities

The nearest village of Brinon-sur-Sauldre offers horse riding and tennis with a local market to pursue on Sunday’s. The surrounding areas of the chateau are perfect for becoming acquainted with French life. You’ll find four restaurants in Brinon-sur-Sauldre to allow you the opportunity to sample local cuisine. Furthermore, you can stop by the bakery, cheese shop and flower shop to get a real taste of French living. 

If you want to travel beyond the nearby village then you’ll find a train station 20km away from the Chateau at Lamotte-Beuvron.  If you need to stock up on essentials, you’ll also find two supermarkets here. Further afield is the village of Aubigny-sure-Nere. This charming location with its Scottish roots is the perfect place to see historical artefacts, middle age architecture and beautiful gardens. 

A local market is held every Saturday morning for you to investigate local goods. You might also want to study the Church of St. Martin with its gothic interiors and stained glass windows. Whatever you decide to put on your itinerary, you’ll be spoilt for choice by the remarkable scenery that France has to offer.
