General Description

Set in 130 acres of parkland and ancient woodland, bordered by the River Dronne, this is a beautifully restored Renaissance-style château which offers elegant charm, supreme comfort and complete relaxation. A delightful blend of rolling hills, forest and waterways surrounds this magnificent place, where guests get the opportunity to relax and explore the Dordogne, the Charente, and the Bordeaux region. A lot of importance is placed on relaxation at the Chateau. Strolling in the grounds, chilling out in elegant luxury, relaxing in the swimming pool, and wine or chocolate tasting, are some of the options. This Chateau is a rare breed. Its grounds are a study in indigenous flora and fauna: rare 19th-century trees, springtime nightingales, migrating Siberian cranes in autumn, tree frogs, otters and deer. Muck about in the river, grab a bike to pedal around, trek on horseback, climb sequoia trees: hotel life here is buckets of outdoor fun. The Chateau is an ideal place to meet. Board meetings, incentive breaks, wedding receptions, house parties, celebrations, the chateau team can cater to your expectations.

Bedrooms: There 10 rooms/suites which all have there own individual character.

The chateau has a wonderful country house atmosphere with a great attention to detail. All the curtains and bed-hangings have been hand-made using fabrics from famous houses, and most have been included supremely comfortable, with luxurious pocketed spring mattresses four-poster beds.

Wake up to a stunning view, and after extracting yourself from the comfort of your four poster bed. breakfast will soothe you into the day.

Each room and suite in this privately-owned chateau is tastefully appointed with period furnishings to give guests a taste of French hospitality in the best tradition of grand family houses. The ten suites and bedrooms (all non-smoking) are located on the first and second floors of the Chateau.

This is the largest and most exclusive suite in the chateau.

The Chateau is set in 130 acres of tranquil parkland and woodland bordered by the Dronne river, amidst rolling hills, forest and waterways. The Chateau is open only to its guests who are free to explore the grounds of the Chateau which is a natural haven for wildlife.

Guests can often see otters, red squirrels, deers, hares, tree frogs, turtles and an enormous variety of birds. The golden oriel and the nightingale can be heard singing throughout the spring and early summer. The migration path of the Siberian cranes passes directly overhead the Chateau’s parkland, making a spectacular sight in spring and autumn. Finally, shooting stars are a regular occurrence in our night sky untainted by urban light pollution.
Additional notes (if any): - A sumptuous Buffet Breakfast is served from 8:30am to 10:30am daily in the Chateau Breakfast Room.
