Petit Chateau La Vigne is situated  in a small village near the town of Ruffec in the lovely Charente region of South West France. Beautiful private pool.

Property Description                                 

The house comprises 5 bedrooms (3 en-suite bedrooms with double beds). The two master bedrooms face across the valley one having an art deco bathroom with bath within the vaulted tower of the old pigeonier, and so is square with slit windows. The other has a modern bathroom with shower. The third double bedroom is on the ground floor and also has a singe bed. The bathroom has a bath. Two smaller double upstairs bedrooms with their own sitting area share a downstairs shower room.

There is a main L shaped sitting room/ dining room, a further small sitting room and a large conservatory kitchen.  The house has digital TV with 28 channels. White Linen and Towels are included and changed weekly. Separate Towels are also provided for the pool. There is a CD, DVD player, dishwasher, cooking facilities by either electric or gas and a washing machine situated in the basement.  The Garden House has a table tennis table for use by guests. 

The house rises in its own grounds of 2 1/2 acres approximately 100 metres from the River Charente boasting a glorious raised riverside location with natural woodland between the river and the house as a part of the garden providing both privacy and additional beauty to the site of the 19th Century house. The house has its own well-maintained 5m x 12m private pool. The gardens are fully enclosed and offer a secluded rural setting within a straddled village about a mile from a small town. 

Area/Local Activities

About 7 minutes walk takes you to the Rejallant, this is where the people of Ruffec come to relax. At the Rejallant you can enjoy fishing, swimming, BBQs. Typically the French would come here with a picnic and just relax by the river. The Rejallant does not affect the tranquility of the Chateau La Vigne. You can hire canoes and other equipment for water sport entertainment. The water sport does not extend past the private waters of the house along the Charente at this point. The rejallant is open every day all year round. 

Futuroscope, one of France's largest family attractions is 8km north of Poitiers. Cognac /Jarnac 45 minutes drive.   Angouleme and Poitiers - the nearest large towns. Angouleme is in the Charente region. Poitiers is in the Poitou region. Both towns are large and have lots to see and do. The Atlantic Coast 1 hour 30 minutes. visit the fishing ports of La Rochelle, Rochefort, Royan with their superb sandy beaches, aquarium and trips to Fort Boyard. Saintes 1 hour. Steeped in Roman history, one of the most beautiful cities in France.
