With 11 acres of grounds amidst beautiful verdant countryside and with views to the Pyrenean mountains, La Borde offers an idyllic holiday venue for couples and families alike. La Borde is perched on a little promontory on the edge of the pretty village of Pyrefitte sur l'Hers.

For both gites, all bed linen, bath and hand towels are supplied. Towels are also supplied for pool use. Cots, high chairs and stair gates can also be arranged, please request when booking. The heated pool 14m x 6m enjoys a sheltered position. With 11 acres of grounds surrounding La Borde, you can always find somewhere quiet to sit and read, bird watch, paint or just enjoy the countryside. The more energetic can play table tennis, baby foot, pètanque and pool.

Area/Local Activities

'La Piege', a micro region of the Lauragais in the department of the Aude, one of the last almost unchanged and until recently undiscovered corners of Southern France, is tucked away between the Canal du Midi and the Pyrenean mountain range. Enjoy the tranquil pace of life, play petanque in the sleepy villages nestled in the gently undulating landscape. Search out small restaurants with their superb local cuisine, explore the Montagnes Noires and the foothills of the Pyrenees, explore mediaeval and Cathar Castles. Activites around La Borde include: boating on the Canal du Midi or Lac de la Ganguise, cycling, horse riding, wine tasting, fishing. There are lots of pre historic caves and interesting museums to see, both in the Ariége and Aude. Other places of interest within reach include: Carcasonne, Toulouse, Mirepoix, Montsegur, Foix, Fanjeaux.
